Today is National Early Years Teacher Day! 🎉

It has been recognised as a day to celebrate the invaluable role that Early Years Teachers play in classrooms and settings.

Early Years Teachers are specialists in early childhood development, trained to work with babies and young children from birth to five. They have to meet the same entry requirements and pass the same skills test as primary school teachers, and many have been primary school teachers themselves, before moving into (or returning to) Early Years. They play an essential role in children’s development, and enhance the quality of both early education and childcare provision

Having an Early Years Teacher in a setting can also help significantly with the children’s transition from nursery to school - Early Years Teachers have direct experience of how a school works and how children can best be supported to make this important educational transition.

At Monkey Puzzle Hartley Wintney, we are lucky to have our own Early Years Teacher. Alison work in our preschool room and is vital in preparing our children for moving on to school. You can read her bio, and find out about her journey to becoming Early Years Teachers below:

Thank you Alison, and all other Early Years Teachers for everything you do for our children. ❤️

It's Eid al-Fitr ✨

Eid al-Fitr is a special occasion for Muslims and is a time for celebration with family and loved ones. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the month of Ramadan, a period of month-long fasting for Muslims around the world, and the start of Shawwal, the tenth month in the Islamic (Hijri) calendar.

Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating! ❤️

Fun had by all!🫧❤️

Today marks the start of Autism Acceptance Week, which runs from 2nd to 8th April.

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. More than one in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.

Autism Acceptance Week has particular importance for us at Monkey Puzzle Hartley Wintney, not only due to the fact that Cherry, the nursery owner, has an autistic son and therefore experiences first hand some of the challenges that can be faced by an autistic child; but also for the neurodivergent children, past and present, and their families who we have supported, and for neurodivergent members of our team whose unique way of thinking we embrace!

This week reminds us of the diverse experiences and perspectives that enrich our world. It's an opportunity to celebrate the uniqueness of individuals and reinforce our commitment to creating an inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. ❤️

Happy Easter Sunday from everyone at Monkey Puzzle Hartley Wintney.

Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar. It celebrates Jesus rising from the dead, three days after he was executed. ⛪️

The children have been busy over the past couple of weeks learning about the meaning behind Easter, and carrying out activities around eggs 🥚, chicks 🐣, bonnets , chocolate 🍫 and other subjects connected to Easter.

We hope that however you observe the day, you are enjoying the extended weekend.
