On Saturday 9th June, we attended the ever popular Hartley Wintney Village Festival and had a wonderful day meeting parents and parents to be, and telling them all about our fantastic nursery.
The weather was fantastic, and we were thrilled with how busy our stall was! Even with 12 of the team manning the tent, we were all kept very busy, talking to people about the nursery and helping people to take part in the activities that we had set up.
Our tuff tray invited children to plant their own sunflowers to take home, which was incredibly successful, as were the tombola and soft toy competition, both of which featured prizes kindly donated by the parents of our children at the nursery. We were even given a bear that stood 4ft tall, which was our star prize, won by a very lucky and delighted young boy.
Puzzle the Monkey made an appearance again this year, walking around the festival giving out free bags and balloons to children and parents, and making lots of friends!
We have had a fantastic response from many of the parents we spoke to that day, and have since welcomed several families to the nursery. We also look forward to meeting others who we spoke to in the future.
As always, we are so grateful for the support of our families and local people at these events – we raised over £200 which has been used to create our loose parts room, providing new resources, inspiration, and opportunities for imaginative play for our littlies!
This was our third year attending the festival. We love being part of it and look forward to seeing you there next year.
