Your child will embark on their Preschool journey with us at around three years old, joining our Owls Room. They will enjoy an enriching learning environment, that fully supports their needs through individual play and group activities.

Within our Preschool (Owls) room, there are some guided areas, such as a construction area, home corner, book area, and creative spaces for music and art. To complement these, we provide a range of areas and activities which serve different purposes to inspire your child’s imagination and role play. They will be able to safely explore feelings and friendships, develop problem-solving skills, and have space available where they can have quiet time and reflection.

My eldest son loves his time at nursery. The staff are so warm and kind to him, he has settled in really well, and made lots of lovely friends. We would recommend this nursery to all the parents in the area.

Owls Environment

Preschool children also follow the Early Years Foundation Stage. We prepare and support them for their eventual move to school. This is a more settled routine with children working in small groups. Through our observations of children learning through play, we are able to introduce learning provocations that follow the interests of individual children, linking them to the seven areas of learning:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

The children have access to the garden every day from their room and complete a lot of their learning outside. The garden also reflects the areas of learning and allows problem solving on a grander scale, so supports and enhances the learning opportunities offered indoors.

Owls Care

Preschool–aged children are supported to become independent and confident in their wellbeing. We encourage them and want them to be able to spot where their peers may need support and help too. Our nursery provides an environment that supports their independence fully, with toilets and handwashing available to them at all times. Children are encouraged to look at themselves in the mirror while they clean their faces after meals, and to clear away their bowls, plates and cups after snack, fulfilling their need for independence and demonstrating behaviours modelled by our team.
